The Summit County Arts Council, a non-profit organization dedicated to supporting the arts in Summit County Colorado. We manage an on going co-operative gallery in Breckenridge, Arts Alive Gallery, which features the diverse work of local artists. One of our most popular events each year is the Meet the Artist show held on the lawn of the Riverwalk Plaza in Breckenridge. MTA brings together visual and performing artists with art loving Summit County residents and visitors. The generosity of the Summit Foundation supports our "Focus on the Child" program, bringing local artists into the schools to work with children. The Annual Snowflake Competition, features teams of school children creating snow sculptures alongside the international artists competing in the Breckenridge Snow Sculpture Championship.
The SHS is dedicated to the discovery, preservation, interpretation, and exhibition of the rich heritage and history of Summit County. We provide tours of historic buildings and mine sites, collections of artifacts, photographs, and documents, and public education programs.
