TGIF Concert Series Dillon Amphitheatre, August 2009

One Friday each summer month, you’ll want to attend the first annual TGIF Concert Series at Dillon, Colorado’s Amphitheatre by the Lake. The 2009 dates are Fridays June 19th, July 17th, and August 14th. The music starts at 6 pm, providing some of Summit County’s most wholesome, refined family entertainment! This no-alcohol series promises to be a winning set of evenings you won’t want to miss!

August 14 will feature:

6:00 PM - 7:00 PM Doo Wop Denny

7:15 PM - 8:30 PM John Adams & Friends

8:45 PM - 10:00 PM Eyes Wide Open Band

Dillon is the gateway to Summit County. Located 60 miles west of Denver on I-25, this reservoir lake town is your stop for Frisco and Breckenridge as well. Nights can get chilly in the mountains even during summer months; visitors are well-advised to bring a jacket along, just in case.

The venue itself, Lake Dillon Amphitheatre, is a wonderful outdoor-seating facility sitauted very near the water. Concert-goers will sit on the lawn facing the stage building, with Lake Dillon directly behind it, the beautiful Rocky Mountains forming a natural background to it all. Overnight lodgings are available at any of the several nearby hotels. Publically owned campsites are available along the lake’s shoreline, and one can phone the U.S. Forest Service (800-280-CAMP) to reserve one of them.

Complimentary food and beverages are available while supplies last, provided by Agape Outpost and Chipotle. The concerts are also free of charge, but attendees are requested to bring a canned food item for the FIRC’s food bank. Be sure to write the TGIF Concert Series dates on your calendar. It’s sure to be a really good time!

    July 30th, 2010 from 07:00 p.m. onwards at the at the Dillon Amphitheatre.

    We were in Dillon for a Saturday concert July 17, and there was a “funky raggae” band that was WONDERFUL…..so much fun. Do you know their name? I would love to hear them again.

    On July 17th, 2010 there was a concert at Dillon Amphitheatre named “Sunset at the Summit Concert featuring Jakarta”. Is this what you were looking for??
